I have a new 718 GT4 that will see lots of track duty. I want to get my first trailer to haul it back and forth. Since the car is so low and the splitter sticks out so much, it seems it's a hard car to easily get onto trailers. I've been reading about lowering trailers (e.g. Futura, Timpte 718), tilting trailers made for low profile cars (e.g. Aluma EX-8218LP-TILT) and just standard nothing fancy trailers but then it sounds like you need 8' - 12' long ramps. Looking for an open trailer. With the GT4 it sounds like all of these trailer options (even the lowering trailers) still require boards/ramps to get on and off.
For the GT4 folks who currently trailer their car, what setups work the best?

I have a 718 GT4 but have not trailered it yet. (My goal with the GT4 was to have a track car that I could simply drive to and from tracks as I had grown tired of trailering.)
However, my previous car was a track-only, non-streetable C6 Z06 that was just as low in the front as the GT4 and what I did for trailering worked well. Rather than specialty trailers with their gizmos that might have caused headaches, I just backed my truck's rear wheels onto a set of Rhino Ramps which lowered the trailer's slanted rear and I then used the trailer's regular aluminum ramps, extending them further with the two 5'4" long double-stepped 2x12s that I put together. I even have slots to keep them mated to the aluminum ramps, especially useful when loading the car on the trailer. Carrying handles too. (2x12's are heavy.)
It works well. Also, having the Rhino ramps can be a plus if you ever have a trailer tire flat. (That assumes a dual-axle trailer of course.)
Simple and failure proof. Lots of use and wear on my old wood ramps.

I can't look at your 4RS anymore. Too painful.Mojonito wrote: Fri Jan 20, 2023 6:37 pm Gt4rs in an eliminator tilt deck trailer. Used 3 foot race ramps to get it in. Easy Peasy
Just kidding. As Tom said, start a thread just for the 4RS. Pics inside and out.
Meanwhile, back to the trailer. I like the tilt feature on your Eliminator trailer - loading looks easy enough based on a quick web lookup of their product.
No tilt on my 12-yr-old trailer but it appears we have the same wheels. (No surprise as these trailer wheels seem to be everywhere.) However, since it has the same or similar wheels, maybe I can teach mine to tilt.....

There’s a winch on there if you’re faint of heart but I just drive it up. Couldn’t be easier. Trailer isn’t super light though, i thinks it’s 2600 lbs
