I have this switch, see photo, inside the front drivers fender that connects to something resembling a connector inside the trunk. I have asked several people and websites if there is a name and purpose for it, to no avail. If someone recognizes the switch and can enlighten me that would solve on of my life questions. Thanks.

Hi and welcome to Carpokes! What model and year is your car? Do you have reason to think it is a factory part? Can we see a straight-on picture into the square part inside -- is it an electrical connector or just shaped like one? My initial guess is that it's either a kill switch or an alarm switch. People use to put those in wheel wells back in the day, right next to those little hide-a-key boxes.

p.s., the email you used to register is bouncing with the message that is does not exist -- can you check it for typos or whatnot. If you need help changing it, you can email me at [email protected]. Thanks.

I agree, not original. Possible a power or fuel pump cut off switch? Is is somewhere one could easily access in when entering or leaving the car?
