Glyco main bearings
I recently purchased a set of supposedly new bearings. The thrust bearings have exposed copper on the flanges which I do not remember being normal with other sets I have used. I have been discussing the issue with the seller and was quoted Gemini AI as they are normal.

Can't say I've ever seen 944 main bearings that look like that. If that's normal for Glyco, it's a 'new normal." There are also knock-offs of Glyco, so make sure they are even authentic. All the ones I've seen are coated so look silver like the rest of the bearing. At a minimum, I'd check axial play and make sure it's in spec. If not, it's an easy return. If it is in spec, I'd still probably want 'regular' looking bearings, but I'm big on running right in the middle of the herd on these kinds of things... The life expectancy of pioneers was considerably shorter than settlers.
