Many thanks for all your efforts to get this written up Dan. It has become the #1 most important safety item to deal with on the 944 in my opinion. A broken timing belt can bend valve, but a car fire can be truly tragic. Every few months you see reports of another 944 with an engine fire -- just saw one on Facebook last week actually.

I spoke with Travis at Rennbay and this is normal. It can be a combination of old fuel and the ethanol in fuels. The multilayer aeroquip hose is good stufft36 wrote: Sun May 24, 2026 9:03 am Excellent write up!
Has anyone noticed that the aeroquip hoses in the kit permeate a fuel smell if you stick your nose right up to them?
