The OEM side marker bulb is an 1155 5w and is NLA. Acceptable replacement isa 97 bulb, but I can only find a 9 or 10w.
Has anyone replaced with a 10w and any issues with melting of wiring or housing?
10w is still low but double OEM spec so I am hesitant.

All the new 1155 bulbs seem to be 8 watts. Maybe the spec for that bulb changed? I don't know if they'd melt anything, but 3 additional watts IS enough to melt the instrument cluster, so you are wise to be cautious. I do see plug and play LED replacements for the 1155, which likely run cool to the touch (and draw almost no power). FWIW, Although I must have missed it on the crossref sites I found , Orielly Auto in store system showed 5007 as equivalent. It’s rated at 12v and 5w so perfect match. so better than all other equivalents. I plan to try that for now and will report back.
