I am recovering my late 944 dash with fresh vinyl, and it's looking great. However, I need some trim pieces for the defrost vents... basically impossible to get the vinyl in those holes without vacuum sealing like factory did. Anyways, found these awesome STLs on Thingiverse, but they dont really fit. Unsure why. The widths are too short, and no angled pieces for the outer most two.
Anyone have experience 3D printing these? Or can modify these? @Tom that man??
Thanks!
Attached photo shows the outer angled one, just need something tapered there, and the rest lengthened along the width of the dash, the skinny direction fits nice.

Ok, let me put it on my list. You are in luck because I have a dash that was recovered by Classic 9, and we stole their metal vent-panel off the top of it for my new custom dash. As a result, I have a perfect Classic 9 dash in need of these very vent trim pieces. It will take me a little time to get to them, but I will...
Tom you are the man! As you can see from my pics I have some work ahead of me beforehand as well filling cracks and recovering. Thankfully the trim is the last step. I sure appreciate it!Tom wrote: Wed Jul 05, 2023 4:13 pm Ok, let me put it on my list. Let me know if you need any measurements without vinyl (probably not if you’ve got your Classic9 in front of you but just lemme know!)

Yeah, I'll work off my spare dash and post them up as I go. In that location, they'd need to be in ABS or ASA (or better) to deal with the heat....Macman45 wrote: Wed Jul 05, 2023 4:19 pmTom you are the man! Did you use the ones from Thingiverse? @Macman45 says they didn't fit his dash?944DVM wrote: Sat Jul 08, 2023 10:02 am First post...but I have used the defrost vent pieces and they fit well and seem to hold up pretty well to heat. Thanks to whoever made/printed these
p.s. Welcome to Carpokes!
Some fit so-so, too short though. But no angled pieces. When you print the set you’ll see. He might have an early dash?Tom wrote: Sat Jul 08, 2023 8:46 pmDid you use the ones from Thingiverse? @Macman45 says they didn't fit his dash?944DVM wrote: Sat Jul 08, 2023 10:02 am First post...but I have used the defrost vent pieces and they fit well and seem to hold up pretty well to heat.
