Seeking the interior console trim (not the dash) for a 996, 911, 2002 Cabriolet. It's now in Burlwood that has cracked over the years - will expect matching tan or black leather. Any thoughts.
I considered acquiring some wood items in my 911 with a Boxster Red leather interior to relieve the eyes of all the red leather, carpet, and tunnel. While I could acquire used items, most of those pieces seemed to be just a breath away from cracking. After careful consideration, the only practical solution for me would be to have the cracked items sent out for hydro dipping or repair at Craft Customs. One of the biggest issues that I have with wood is that at times my Cabriolet is open to the effects of sunshine and along with humidity as there is a greater chance of cracks and or discoloration. However, I am still undecided if I want to have wood-dipped parts or have them covered in leather, but from all indications, Craft Customs seems to be one of the best..

I had it reupholstered and it turned out great. Porsche can make the part ordered thru a dealer but it's in the $2,500 range and takes 6 months.
