SNEAK PEEK - 718 SPORTS CHRONO BEZEL COVER
I have used JD Yellow and actually bought a can, and I agree it is very close to Racing Yellow (see last pic). I have tried a few bezel options over time, starting with my last P-car, a 2019 Targa GTS, and from that car on I decided that anything other than the silver bezel would be a better option. Here are a few examples of what I had and the 2nd & 3rd pics show what I have now.

Thanks Bob, is that last picture my plastic bezel or the original? And is it painted in JD yellow? Is that where you ended up after trying the big hood version?

Early on, I bought an Amazon bezel. They stick on with tape and look aftermarket and cheap. However, not a bad idea to buy one as a ‘test bezel’ that you can paint and hold against the SC to see if you like it. Unfortunately, the 718 SC doesn’t lend itself to a snap on bezel cover. On the other hand, if your car has a drive mode knob, the CP hand painted covers snap on in seconds and look 100% like an OEM option. Bob Z has snapped off and painted his actual SC bezel. I’m too scared to do it because I know, if I mess up or break a plastic tab, I’m out the cost for parts and labor for a new sports chrono.BrewKaiser wrote: Thu May 18, 2023 9:05 am Thank you @Bob Z and @Larry C for your quick replies. Unfortunate that buying just the bezel isn't an option. After a bit of searching I found the OG thread I stumbled upon and will buy a couple of the cheap Amazon bezels to paint to see if I like this before permanently painting the OEM bezel. As I recall the Amazon ones don't fit the 718s.
If I like it I may wait in the hopes that Tom develops one for the 718 that meets his high standards.
I may also just buy a yellow dial set and only use the outer ring to add just a pop of color.
Thanks again for the support you provide users on this forum and others!

Tom thank you for the reply on the paints. Super helpful.Tom wrote: Thu May 18, 2023 10:30 am I just hope I can find the CAD (.stl) model.See pictures below.
2. Rustoleum makes a "Farm and Implement" paint called JD Yellow, which is a virtual match for Racing Yellow. It's extremely close -- probably as close as custom paint you would get based on the code. It's harder to work with than Rustoleum's "Gloss Protective Enamel" series, so I tend to use that in "Sunburst Yellow" for yellow bezels. Sunburst Yellow is close enough for knobs and bezels in my opinion, but JD Yellow is virtually identical if that's what you are after. Color dial faces are not really a good match for the color they claim to be, so the bezels don't need to be either to look 'right'. The only exception in my opinion is where the car has the interior trim painted in the exterior color. If you have Racing Yellow dash trim, it is best to match it as closely as you can so the difference isn't noticeable....
If you are able to dig up the .stl file and are willing to print two up for me I would gladly compensate you for your troubles and provide my FedEx/UPS account info to ship. Just shoot me a PM if this is something you are willing to do.
Yes, I would much rather preserve the OEM than permanently alter. If I can get two I would do one in Yellow and one in Black. As stated previously, I may just swap the outer ring on the dial face with yellow instead of my current black/silver. I'm just looking to add a touch of yellow. My exterior is Carerra White with yellow PCCBS and a silver/yellow decal on the sides. I'm having custom LWBS inserts made and may also do custom leather latch pulls. Both of these will have a thin yellow line. I just upgraded shift knob to 992 GT3 (yellow numbers). So just trying to keep yellow accents subtle. If I had Bob's screaming yellow machine I'ld be all in, too!
@Bob Z and @Larry C Thanks again for your further help.

Ha! I would love you see you fill out an option sheetBob Z wrote: Thu May 18, 2023 5:33 pm So you've seen my Yellow Spyder! I was much more restrained on this one compared to my last one, a Miami Blue Targa GTS:
I have a soft spot for Targas. After waiting two years for my T4S allocation, it came up, however PDCC, PCCBs, and a few other options on Order Hold and dealer still asking for ADM... So I tapped out and ended up with a used Spyder instead.

Let me see if I can find that .stl and print you a few. The more I see someone around and contributing here on Carpokes, the more motivated I get.BrewKaiser wrote: Thu May 18, 2023 5:27 pmTom thank you for the reply on the paints.
