All good lol.
Trouble shooting/testing CIWS right now too so lots of multi tasking. I would post photos but then I would have to kill everyone
All good lol.
Yet to be determined on that.Thom wrote: Fri Dec 02, 2022 1:56 pm What sort of compression ratio are you planning for the engine running these?
That’s a fairly drastic over simplification. You can only work with the combustion chamber you’re given… yes of course we have options with fuel and EFI control but I would be extremely cautious upping the CR coupled with increased boost on a 944 series engine. 16V or not.Thom wrote: Sun Dec 04, 2022 9:55 am I was talking the other day with a friend of mine who is into muscle cars. He has a self-built AWD Chevelle putting down 2200+ hp. We came to the conclusion that any proper performance engine should be thought out as a NA engine first, and that the turbo is just a supporting ancillary. That means high CR, big cams, high revs, and add turbo(s) into the mix that can support how much the engine flows.
There is little reason these days to keep with low-ish CRs on a turbo engine. We have high octane fuels and all the electronic equipment to keep it all under control. I went with a low-ish CR on my 16V build and if I were to do it again I would have done things differently. I have no regrets though as I am getting older like everybody and this is a street car that needs to be docile most of the time I drive it and I plan to be buried with it. So at this stage and depending on your use you may really weigh your options before settling on a CR and cams combination. IMO at least.
Re-Engine Management, Link just released a teaser for their new line. Not a lot of specs but looks exciting.gruhsy wrote: Fri Dec 02, 2022 4:34 pmYet to be determined on that.Thom wrote: Fri Dec 02, 2022 1:56 pm What sort of compression ratio are you planning for the engine running these?
For my setup it will be dual scroll turbo for sure
Mine will have a different intercooler with my unique sprayer setup.
Turbo will be determined closer to completion as there seems to be new stuff available every so often
Engine management will likely be Link from Chris White….unless he has something different at the time.
Exhaust will be Unobtainium fabrication
Good to know that thanks. I was on their site a few weeks ago. Can’t remember the specifics of each one without going back to the website.SirLapsalot wrote: Thu Dec 08, 2022 7:10 amRe-Engine Management, Link just released a teaser for their new line. I run their G4X and think it’s quite possibly the best product out there for the money.
