Still stuck in a loop with what to do with the coilovers, the Australian exchange rate for USD/EURO is not the best ATM
and strangely getting some KWs out of the UK is the best option pricewise. I'm still waiting to hear back from Racers Edge (MCS) and AST on their shock valving but am still leaning towards the KW V3 and calling it a day, I'm not seriously into track days, I just like to get out and fang around for a few laps. Karl suggested the MCS are much better than Intrax so I would probably go straight for those if I was considering spending a bit more money (and wanted a monotube shock). I cant really find any information on AST in a Porsche application, but the Bimmer crowd seem to say they are more track focused.
I really could use the extra money to put towards a PWR radiator and look into upgrading the stock intercooler.
I haven't added tax/duties on the below, I usually just run the gauntlet and don't get caught but add another 15% on top of the below prices if I do.
KW V3 - AUD$4597
KW V3 CS w/top mount - AUD$5644
AST 5100 - AUD$4344
AST 5100 w/Top Mount - AUD$5650
AST 5200 2way remote- AUD$8,144
MCS 1WNR - AUD$6399
Intrax 1K2 - AUD$5907
Intrax 1K2+ARC - AUD$8215
Break-in oil (Driven GP-1 20W-50) and and fittings have arrived. We're planning to circulate oil in through the filter housing and around the engine with 12V pump before priming the oil pump and turning over. Probably a bit over the top but I have a lot of money in this engine.

I may have driven 100,000 km already with the KW V3s and they do not feel anywhere near like they need a rebuild. The low speed bypass valves may not be as efficient as when new but I still hear them work at low speed on poor roads. I'd try to find feedback from users of the other shocks you are considering if they are as satisfied as I am after so much driving, at least if you intend to use the car as much as I do.

I've ordered the KW V3's, there's just to much good feedback, I'm still not even sure I'm going to manage to get a seat low enough that I can get in the car with a helmet on, my head is almost touching the roof as it is.
We attempted to go for a start yesterday, turned it over and started to get oil pressure but when I went to turn the fuel pump back on I couldn't get a response from the PDM. Seems like it may have gotten some stray current from when I had the exhaust welded. I'm still not quite sure how, because I disconnected the battery and the IO from the ECU and PDM but PDM has a large ground which I missed.
The PDM is on its way to Link for repair, hopefully it won't take another month to get it back.

Nice to hear you got some decent coilovers ordered!Bergerac wrote: Mon Aug 04, 2025 3:34 pm I've ordered the KW V3's, there's just to much good feedback, I'm still not even sure I'm going to manage to get a seat low enough that I can get in the car with a helmet on, my head is almost touching the roof as it is.

Sucks on the PDM though.. I would not have expected it to blow like that..
Just heard back from Link, the PDM wasn't damaged internally but because it can be powered on through the USB port, when it broke it was preventing the IGN input from turning it on. That explains why the fuel pump would run intermittently.
Its probably my fault it got damaged because I was trying to squeeze the USB cable in behind the stock DME mounting bracket but all repairs were covered under warranty by Link, great service!

Nice! For my MaxxECU I used the hole next to the 12v port in the car, 3d printed a small bracket and put a USB-C port in there so you dont need to get a USB cable in the ECU anymore!Bergerac wrote: Sun Aug 17, 2025 8:55 pm Just heard back from Link, the PDM wasn't damaged internally but because it can be powered on through the USB port, when it broke it was preventing the IGN input from turning it on. Ill do something like that eventually, the PDM has a fairly average design where the USB is on the front, I tried a right angle USB cable but it clashed slightly with the heatsink fin and must be what put the extra stain on it. Between the ECU and the PDM I have USB Cables everywhere!
I should only really need to connect to it to force a couple of inputs off and on, once its tuned the config shouldnt need too much tweaking. Errors and running data all go back to the ECU for logging over CAN

So Link requires a separate connection for the PDM? MaxxECU lets you connect through the USB port of the ECU!

Ah yeah, AussieBergerac wrote: Mon Aug 18, 2025 5:44 am You win some, you lose some, the Link PDM is 1/3 the price here and I would have been waiting 2 months+ for repairs not 2 weeks
PDM is 1200 euro here..
