It almost looks like that little cancel piece that hooks to the springs is 3D printed.

@Zirconocene - thanks for that video - I had never seen that one before either. Love the lever holders - mine popped out of place on their own after I took the front plate off. Not too bad to get them back in again though. Do you know if that kit is available in the US?

That kit is available through 928sRUs; that's where I bought it. I just happened on that website from a random search I was doing for something else and they are doing some cool stuff.

@Tom how hard would it be to make that little plastic cancel piece on the 3D printer?
I don’t really need one of those, I have three combo switches and the spare that I tore into first is the only one with a worn out canceling piece.
Anyway, I pulled the combo switch off my car and opened it up. Lots of dried up grease on the contacts. I used the flat top screws to put it back together. They do stick out a bit so I just took an xacto knife and cut reliefs in the little plastic liner inside the trim cover and it worked just fine still.
Here’s what it looked like when I popped it open at first:

I couldn't help but think the same thing. If printed in NylonX, I bet a 3D printed version would last for years. On the other hand, I wouldn't want to step on anyone toes....notny41 wrote: Wed May 25, 2022 11:32 am @Tom how hard would it be to make that little plastic cancel piece on the 3D printer?
Well, I contacted the guys at the 928 site and asked if they sell just the part or if you have to by the kit with the part, drill bits, screws, stalk holders, and grease and they said it is only available as a kit. So, to me, that doesn't seem like stepping on anyone's toes...
Again, I don't "need" one of these - especially if it costs $50 to fix a spare combo switch that I will likely never use... But if they were available by themselves at a nominal cost, I'd probably fix the combo switch that could use it.

Thanks for posting. This is really helpful.
Hi ,I need some help with my early 944 window switches, the passenger window, left hand, Australia, goes down and screwed past the stop. I have un Jammed it but it will not respond to both the drivers side switch or it’s dedicated switch when going up, just down works. i read some where that both switches need to work together , I have tried cleaning the switches but nothing . Still down only. I reversed wires on motor and it goes both ways. Ps this is my first post, I could not think of a name. my first 944 20 years ago was blue , black interior which I loved and now I have a white 944 with brown interior which I really have a problem liking as much, I think it will grow on me.i am just so happy to have another 944.
Not sure if the early ones are the same as the later ones, but the later ones I've taken apart and cleaned before. Might want to have a look at a wiring diagram and just jumper the contacts that the switch would make connections on and see if the window goes the direction you expect. maybe it isn't the switch?
