Name: Darwin Binek
Location: Big Country, Texas
Current fun cars: 1988 944 Turbo S
Occupation: Prior Service Marine, Former UAV operator for DoD. Currently full time student.
First Porsche: 1988 944 Turbo S
Was hooked on Porsche's when: My Great Uncle had a 1969 911S, and my dad bought a 1984 911 Carrera. My Dad always told me the 944 Turbo was the best "bang for your buck" so I bought one as soon as I could afford a good example!

Here I am, saying hello to everybody.
I don't have a Porsche yet, but hopefully in another four or five months I will be driving my orange 911 Carrera.
Yes, I ordered it three weeks ago and now I just have to wait, and wait, and wait.

Welcome aboard nvbirdman! Will that be a lava orange 992? Are they saying the wait is 4 or 5 months now? When I ordered mine, they say 4 months, but it showed up in more like two and a half.nvbirdman wrote: Mon Aug 16, 2021 8:53 am Here I am, saying hello to everybody.

Hey all,
My name is Dan and pleased to be here. I’ve owned a lot of sports cars: 4 Triumphs, 1 MGB, 3 Miatas, 2 BMW sports cars, 3 Fiat Spiders, and recently, 3 Porsches - 981, 991.2, 992. I have a B GTS 4.0 on order. I love the old sports cars and two of my favorite were the ‘63 Spitfire 4 and the MGB. I also had a TR6 restored that was sweet.
Anyway, I am super excited about this Boxster heading into production next week. I’m also glad to be here and enjoy reading what you all share.
BTW, my first near ownership was a yellow 356B years ago. I gave a down payment to a guy who was a senior in my college and he ran off to NJ with my hard earned money. He gave me bogus contact info. Next was a new black 924 but my then wife didn’t approve - something about kids blah blah blah. Lol. Anyway, I’ve been in sports car heaven since then and happy to be in this community.

Welcome nvbirdman - Lava Orange is a stellar color!
I was always told the anticipation is part of the fun..... But I find it frustrating...
I hope your wait is nice and short!
