944 Dash Removal by Carpokes

Hi Tom
I used the instructions. I am a newbie to 944 and I did not see how to remove the indicator stalk assembly.
I took some pictures to maybe update the manual u created.

Yikes, did I forget to include that? I took pictures and wrote up a section, but maybe screwed up when I was editing and formatting. Post your pictures for sure, and I can update and so a Rev. 2. Thanks so much, and glad you got it off!

See the pics to remove indicator stalk unit. The bolt you need to undo I am pointing to is 8mm

I'll let you know as I proceed. I have ten 944s (not my proudest buying moments), most or all of which need dashes. I will be experimenting with re-cover using marine vinyl, but hopefully will get good at this and switch to leather with some of the better cars. Some of my cars are Type 1/pre-Jan 1985, and the dash removal will be different, though not too different, I hope. Will keep you apprised, and thanks again. Earl

Ten! Wow, you win! I did that in my younger days with the 2nd gen Rx7, but I had maybe 4 or 5 max. Those cars were worth a couple thousand dollars back then, so you could buy as many as you wanted for very money. With the value of 944's going through the roof, you might be able to retire on 10 of them... I have the leather-wrapped dash shown in post #6 of this thread if you (or anyone else) is interested.

Perfect, thank you. Only issue was adhesive from replacement screen bonding everything in place

attempting this weekend after watching Mr India's vlog using the instructions. Will still be a pain in the proverbial, but a lot less daunting now.
