Sorry about that. Seems like windshields, headlights, and batteries have all become less reliable in the modern era. When I was a kid, those parts almost never seemed to need replacing. I bought the Safeguard coverage of tires, wheels, dings, and glass, and it has paid for a new tire, removal of a dent, and a new windshield. It will also pay for repairing some curb rash on a wheel.
The ride home from LA was interesting. I put the summer tires on for the drive west. Having had no snow all winter, Colorado had a big blizzard in the mountains the day we were planning to drive across I-70. Ended up detouring north to Salt Lake, east on I-90 across Wyoming, then back down to Longmont.
