This weekend, my touring buddy joined me as codriver for a fun and long standing time-speed-distance rally in my 944. We took 8th out of 40 cars. The Snowflake rally is hosted by the NY Metro PCA. Thought Id share some photos.
6:30am and -6F, cold start...
Only other 944.

Wow, you guys are fearless! I know guys in California who won't take their car out if there's a stiff breeze!
Looks like a good time had by all! Also, just say the word and I'll send you a carpokes sticker for that rear quarter window.

I think old man Porsche would approve of the cold weather testing ;D
I was definitely bummed when the east coast was hit with all the snow and freezing temps last week, I was hoping for one of those random "balmy" February days we sometimes get... I'm building the car for road rally, so I just had to have faith in the newish battery and get over the convulsing the car did for the first few minutes... Honestly it did great starting up, but I have 10w40 in it. 0F is at the edge of temperature range and I could tell. After it warmed up it ran excellent and didn't even notice the 15F day. I did find out my alternator hates the extreme cold. It complained about the lights on until much later into the day, but that area of the engine bay stays so cold.
