Anyone know anything about the possibility of a 963 Street Car? I've been hearing rumors lately....

A bunch of the auto mags have written short pieces to that effect, questioning whether or not Porsche was teasing a street version with recent statements.

That's helpful and is consistent with my hunch. A local Porsche salesmen recently claimed he'd be getting an 'allocation' for one and expected the price to be in the US$6 million range. He said it, of course, in connection with trying to up-sell a very good repeat customer on an existing model (which he needs like a hole in the head). If the C&D article is correct about this being a modified one-off like the 917, or even if they made a few dozen, I can't imagine these being sold by a rank and file salesman/dealers, nor to anyone without some special relationship. Right?

This is a level of exclusivity that is well beyond mine, or even much more than a few plugged-in people I know. I am thinking Jerry Seinfeld and the like are going to be the favoured ones. I would think Porsche AG will make a lot of the decisions.

100% agree. This will likely be along the lines of the VIP program which is now at its end.
