I watched it. Interesting. Will it work? Porsche has patented it so they must think so. I think. Or are they just making sure no one else can build it without paying royalties. Will they build a working version?

Interesting way of getting variable compression ratio which has benefits over a fixed comp particularly for turbo motors.

As I understand it, it's to hopefully make better (more efficient) use of syn fuels being developed (primarily by Porsche at the moment with the pilot program in Chile) that would meet the EU's stringent guidelines scheduled to be implemented fully in 2035 that would ban new vehicle sales powered by the real thing. ("Juice" per the second Mad Max film, Road Warrior 2. :D) "Juice" is good in my book!

That, of course, assumes that the syn fuel program can be scaled up sufficiently and also that the EU doesn't back down from their draconian mandates. They've already backed down a bit from their original stance and I imagine reality and saner heads will intervene even more at some point.
