How to do it?
In Safari, tap on the menu bar. Scroll down the list of options, then tap Add to Home Screen.(If you don’t see Add to Home Screen, you can add it. Scroll down to the bottom of the list, tap Edit Actions, then tap Add to Home Screen.)
Here are STL files for a MagSafe charging port you can install in the late 944, in the ashtray location. See video below for installation details. This is designed around a standard Apple-branded MagSafe charger. Best to print in ABS, ASA or other heat resistant plastic for hot car interiors. I print it with supports for the little notch area, but you could probably get away without support.
Here is the standard one-piece part:
Carpokes 944 MagSafe One Piece.stl
And here are files for the 2-piece version, as explained in video:
Carpokes 944 MagSafe Base Plate.stl
Carpokes 944 MagSafe Round Clip.stl
Finally, here is another version of the base plate with room around the edges to allow it to be covered in leather/vinyl, along with a cut-out for the common 703PR-102 knock counter. See picture below. Note the separate bezel file for the knock counter. See here for info on the knock counter itself.
This is some really cool work. I might try it with my Porsche 944 N/A from 85. I currently put a little 3D printed tray instead of the original piece but always struggling to have a decent way to charge my phone…

I vote for CE to tie a bow around this by covering in leather to match your center console.
As of this weekend, it is! See that last pic above. I covered it myself, but with authentic Crazy Eddie leather -- same leather as the rest of the interior except 'skived' to a .8mm thickness.
