The 2021 992 was not optioned with matching Miami Blue seatbelts. Does anyone know if the 718 Cayman\Boxster belts would fit the 992? I don’t understand why Porsche offered that color for the 718 but not the 911 992. Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome to Carpokes!

I cannot answer the question regarding whether or not 718 belts will fit a 992 but there are companies that will re-web belts in a variety of colors. I know nothing about the company that I linked below but they look legit and offer 50 different colors. Just a guess, but I would think it might be more cost effective to re-web rather than buy a new set from Porsche.

Also, @JodehFoster mentioned that he was getting his belts re-webbed back in January, so possibly he can address his re-webbing experience. His comment was on the first page of the thread 'What Did You Do to Make Your 718 Unique' here: viewtopic.php?t=1388&hilit=seatbelts

I replaced the very old and tired seatbelts in our 450SL with a set from Seatbeltplanet. The belts themselves are very nice and would look at home even in a new Porsche. The retractors are kind of on steroids, however, and yank me against the seat with more force than I'd like, so I'd stick to their reweb service on a new car. Also not sure if they match colors....maybe, but I had to pick from a list of colors they stock...

paging @Crazy Eddie as someone who may know if the 718 and 992 belts are interchangeable and/or how to get Miami Blue belts in a 992....?

Thank you guys. Aftermarket non-Porsche belts are probably a NO for me. I don’t know the testing that have been done on aftermarket stuff. Worse case, I could use Racing Yellow in it. Not my first choice. I’m mad about it, only because Porsche offers Shark Blue belts with the Shark Blue paint when they discontinued Miami Blue. Not the end of the world.

I hear you, especially regarding a new 992. However, since Tom has used them, I decided to look at the SeatBeltPlanet website a bit closer in case I ever have a need. Should you run out of options and decide that you really want have to have Miami Blue, I read the following that might offer some assurance: "NHTSA is the governing agency under the Department of Transportation (DOT) for on-road, highway vehicle safety. Our belts are tested and certified to meet FMVSS 209 and 302 which are the standards related to the actual seat belt. The certification tag is located on all our belts."

Also saw that Miami Blue is one of their colors.

Another thought is to contact your Porsche svc dept and see if they'll give a definitive yes or no regarding 718/992 seat belt interchangeability.

Thanks for that information. Really helpful. It makes me feel better about that they meet a standard. Also, as picky Porsche is about what you do to “Their” cars and I need to make sure it doesn’t violate my warranty.

Just another clue... Suncoast sells Deviated Color Seat Belt kits for the 992 and the 718, but they have different SKU's, color choices, and prices, suggesting they are not the same part. The 718 kit also fits the 991, so it suddenly makes sense. The 718 shares a lot with the 991, but the 992 has all the newer generation interior stuff. If anything, the 992 shares more with the Taycan, but if there were any factory part in Miami Blue that was correct for the 992, I presume Suncoast would have listed it in the color options. :(
