We recently changed the default number of 'recent topics' shown on the front page of Carpokes. It's a good way to see the most recent comments on Carpokes and with the daily post count going up every day, increasing the number to 10 seemed about right. However, each user can set the number of recent topics to their own preferences. The 1-minute video below shows how to change the setting.

Tom - as I mentioned yesterday along with the screenshot I sent, those options are not available, at least not to me. I've logged in using three diff browsers - Chrome, Firefox, Edge - and the only controls under 'Board preferences' > 'Edit display options' are as shown in my screenshot below.

Your video shows four general areas in the 'Edit display options' side menu whereas ours (mine, anyway) only shows three option areas.

Is it possible that the additional controls showing in your video are limited to certain users as I suggested? I am curious if others can see the options that are not showing for me.

I was having email issues yesterday, so must have missed that, sorry about that. I'll have to figure out why you can't see it. Curious what everyone else sees on that screen?

Check now. I enabled it for all registered users and enabled people to also change the location of the recent topics and/or turn them on/off all together. See it now?

Note to everyone - the update may place the 'Recent Topics' section at the top of the Carpokes home page which is a different look.

Go to 'User Control Panel' > 'Board preferences' > 'Edit display options' . From there , change the 'Select location' from "Show on top" to "Show on side" if you want it back to the way it was. (Can also choose "Show on bottom")

Can also now select the number of 'Recents' to show anywhere from zero to a hundred or more.

Nice! Thank you Tom!

Yes!! Thank you!
Thanks Tim. I just set the default to show it on the side as before, so hopefully it will not jump around on anyone else unintentionally. (But if it does, let me know!) Sorry I missed your comment yesterday. I was emailing from my hosting server's email portal, which is super clunky, so never saw your screenshot. Thanks for getting us there!
