Hello everyone! I posted in the new members forum and got a lot of people wanting to see the car. This is my new to me 1984 944na. I don't fully understand the history other than the car was imported from Canada to the US, lived in Miami FL with it's original owner, then in Orlando FL with the owner before me. The owner before me only put a few thousand on it before parking it in 2019. My father had a 944 turbo and ive always loved the 944 so it wasnt an opportunity i could pass up. Pictures attached of the night I went and picked her up and brought her to my dealership.

In the less than a month I have owned the car I have replaced fuel pump, the line from the tank, filter, and the battery to get the car started. I did an Oil change and brake flush to find almost brand new oil, and probably the original brake fluid (I had used the parking brake to move the car around until this point). Then I did the timing and balance belts (thank you for the comments I will loosen my balance belt, the tool for the timing belt worked fantastic, i actually got it right originally). When I was getting the car started originally, I was not pressing the clutch pedal and heard a horrific knocking noise. After my research I discovered the clutches were rubber, so next was to replace the clutch, not particularly fun but working as a tech at a dealer i had everything i needed. Logically i replaced the rear main and pilot bearings as well, however I did not touch the torque tube as it felt fine and would take longer than I wanted to get into. Finally today I replaced the fuel sending unit, so now the fuel gauge actually works, but sadly on my way home the odometer stopped moving. Through more research Im guessing the gear in the cluster has broken, I will be trying to find files to 3D print a gear if I can, however it is a euro cluster (pictures attached). I also have the speedometer wobbling until around 45-50KM an hour, my guess is binding speedo cable? Ill take any recommendations and answer any questions you guys have! Oh I also put a bumper off of Pelicans website on the rear you can see in the pictures, expensive but worth it.

Oh another question I had, In the previous reply I posted a picture including the sticker in the trunk, from what I read the vehicle is equipped with leather steering wheel (replaced with the one in the car by one of the previous owners), sunroof, bumpers, and a "Great Britain package" What exactly is the Great Britain Package? Im guessing its just a package of multiple options? But does anyone know which options that is?

What a great find and it looks just like the first 944 I ever drove when a good friend let me wheel it around an autocross course in Wichita, Kansas. I let him jump in my RX-7 as the two cars were in the same Class and we usually ran similar times. We switched cars that day and I won the contest driving the red 944. That was my first win in a Porsche so I have fond memories of the twin to your new beast!
