As I had a really nice set on my 944 from Intrax, the 1K2 stock version, I wanted to have something similar for my 968.

When the time came, I reached out to Donald from Intrax Suspension Technology (https://www.intraxracing.nl/) who hooked me up with the same set but now with a discount!

But while talking to them, we discovered that they were in need of making motorsport cabling for their EMC system.

The EMC system is the Electronic Magnetic Control system, that allows you to change the stiffness of the shocks electronically from inside the car while driving.
Now of course, I had my set changed to that too, but now this is where it gets interested.

As I'm running my MaxxECU and I'm already data logging a lot of information, we're now going to upgrade this; I'm installing accelerometers and height meters on each wheel. This, together with brake pressure will allow us to data log this good enough that we can get this setup working actively.

If anyone here has some experience with accelerometes, please let me know!
We have found this sensor for BMW's: 37155A0F905 but they are rather expensive, if a cheaper version can be found, i'll be interested!

Update on this:
Picked up my set last Friday from Intrax and started with the installation.
Front shocks are mounted, rears are a bit more difficult as I need to remove the full rear axle..

Very interesting Bas, how quickly does the EMC respond to changes in the input and will you require a H-Bridge to drive it?

You may want to look into steering angle as well unless the Maxx ECU already has a inbuilt yaw sensor.

There is a controller from Intrax so no H-Bridge needed. Just a 10A feed in to the controller is needed, but when you’re a regular client, they supply you with all the cabling (made by yours truely )
The controller has CAN-capability so I’m working with them to get CAN displays to control the shocks!

I dont have any suspension / steering sensors yet but will probably try to get a steering angle sensor too!

Very exciting, interested to see how this pans out.

Actually installing this is a pipe dream for me, but I'm here for the updates!

It’s been almost a week, we need updates!

Nice technology especially for a vehicle with the transaxle rear suspension to constantly load all four corners. Just restored the MagRide in GM’s first iteration on our 09 Escalade Platinum. We got 180k clicks from it before it went to full bounce house mode.

It’s still underrated / undervalued technology. The beauty of the mag system is it works at 100% efficiency until failure unlike hydraulic that still provides some rebound and compression when failure begins.

Acess to suspension data as well as control of your mag fluid viscosity is a tuner’s dream.

Hah! Welcome! I’ve been busy with house projects lately so didnt get to do much on the 968.

Front shocks are installed, waiting for some parts for my Kokeln rear axle and some stuff that is being galvanized.

I hope to have it installed next weekend!
