Im back with another project/thread. This time brakes, specifically caliper rebuilding. I just picked up a set of used calipers that look partially rebuilt, but the cylinders may need replaced. I ordered seal kits, but I noticed pistons are either out of stock or maybe difficult to find? Any advice on where to get them from?

Are the pistons REALLY that bad that they can’t be cleaned up?? Are they scored or out of spec???

Which model and variant in 924/944/968?

I haven't actually broken them down yet, the boots just look hosed. I will reuse them if I can, but I was mostly just asking so I could understand my options.

1987 944 NA, the single piston floating calipers.

Do an ebay search on “ate replacement pistons for 1987 porsche 944 brakes” and there’s at least one company in UK that sells them. I didn’t go through all the listings, so there may be other sources. Also Design911 in UK has a combo piston/seal kit for the rears.

I'd brake them down first and check. I refurbished mine a while back and needed to replace everything but the pistons were fine.

I saw that Edredas.com has some rebuilt and replated sets for sale
