For those of you that don't peruse Rennlist, there was an announcement about an update to the Clark's Garage html, and a new hosting site:
http://clarks.transaxlescene.de/en
I clicked around a little bit and it's nicely laid out with, as far as I can tell, all the original information.
Cheers

I haven't been on Clark's in a bit (generally a good thing). I'll be sure to give it some clicks today!
Thanks for the heads up

Good deal. Thanks.
It would be a shame to lose that resource.

I reached out to Dean Smith several times over the years about doing something similar, but never got a response. Based on my reading of the Rennlist post, it sounds like the person behind this version did not received a response either, but proceeded with a parallel version of the site anyway. Not sure how I feel about that....

So this "new site" isn't exactly an ethical use of I.P. Without looking deep I thought it was just an update, although I see now that Clarks original site is still with us. Last upadated April 2018 sounds like it's at least partially abandonded?

Not liking the new version. Hopefully the old site will stay up.

Someone must be paying the ongoing domain registration and hosting costs for the Clark’s-Garage site, so while it may not have been actively maintained for a while, it’s not really abandoned. In that sense, it is actually less abandoned than a book printed in 2018. I’ve had a crash course in maintaining online technical content since starting Carpokes, so I have some sympathy for Dean — even if he won't answer my darn emails

-- or whoever is paying to keep all that content alive and online.
My understanding from the Rennlist post, and from looking at the transaxle site, is that this is a repackaged version of Clark’s-Garage -- which continues to exist — with much of Clark’s content copied over and hosted under a spiffy new front-end interface, apparently without permission if you read the Rennlist post at face value. Call me a buzz-kill, but the whole thing doesn't feel right to me.

Interesting...
The "new" site won't even load for me, not on PC or smartphone. It has a .de extension, maybe someone trying to make it more accessible in Germany?
