Vague Steering Feel on 987CS

Good afternoon, all: owner of a 2007 987 Cayman S here.
Lately I've noticed that the steering on my car feels less assured/confidence-inspiring than it should: it seems like initial turn-in is not as sharp/direct/immediate as it used to be, and at speed, the steering feel is... well, vague is really the best word to use.
The car has nearly 76K miles on it, and as it's nearly 20 years old, the first thing that comes to mind is that there are probably bushings that need to be replaced. I am moderately mechanically adept (I'm just finishing up an engine rebuild on my soon-to-be-944-track-car), so I'm aware that replacing front suspension bushings (especially in the steering rack) would also require an alignment.
Another symptom that *might* be a factor is that about a week ago, I had a weird steering wheel vibration at around 60mph. My initial thought was that a wheel weight must have fallen off, but the vibration weirdly seemed to move from the steering wheel to feeling like it was in my seat (right below me) and then went away. It hasn't returned since.
It also occurs to me that I recently (about 500mi ago) got brand-new tires on the car; they were installed without a new alignment or balancing.
Anyhow, wondering what your thoughts might be. I'm pretty resigned to bringing the car to my local specialist and just describing the symptoms , but wondering if there's anything I should check/consider. Thanks in advance!
