LCD Gauge Replacement/Intergration

Hi All,
Im starting to explore either replacing some of my gauges with LCD screens or intergrating a screen into one of the existing guages and controlling it PiDash. This will be feed data from my standalone ECU over canbus but there is also the potential for the Pi to accept signals from the exisiting wiring. The plan will be to retain the style of the analogue gauges while displaying extra data direct from the ECU.
First round LCD sourced is perhaps slightly too big and will clash with the surrounding gauges/Iumination but will be used as a test mule for gauge development Im also exploring removing a small portion of the face of the tacho, the S2/NA tachos have a decent amount of space behind to mount an LCD (not a great option for those with a Turbo) The third option was to replace the oil pressure/battery or temp/fuel gauages, but there was a bit of a hole in the availability of round LCDs close to the correct size.
Im not sure if there is any interest but if the project is successfull, Ill look at potentially supplying a kit, this will be quite a while away though.
