The Quick Backstory:
I bought this car as a non-runner in 2023 out of dry storage, where it had sat since 2005 (preserving the 50k original miles). Over the last two years, I performed a ground-up mechanical overhaul to make it completely turn-key and roadworthy. The rust-free chassis spent its life in CA, TX, and NV, and still retains its bright, original factory gold zinc hardware.
The Mechanical Highlights:
Clutch: Brand new full clutch replacement (the biggest 944 job out of the way).
Top-End: Cylinder head pulled, surfaced, and refreshed with new valve guides and stem seals.
Hoses & Fluids: All-new coolant hoses, fuel lines, power steering lines, brake lines, etc.
Front Engine Seals & Mounts: Full front-engine seal overhaul (cam, balance shafts, crank). New head gasket, rear main seal, and engine mounts.
Belts: New timing and balance shaft belts, fresh rollers, new water pump, and new accessory belts
Hydraulics: Rebuilt power steering rack, rebuilt brake calipers, and new clutch cylinders
Fuel & Ignition: New fuel pump, filter, distributor cap, rotor, plugs, and wires.
OEM+ Upgrades: Genuine 17" Cup 2 wheels, 968 caster blocks, 968 sway bars, and a short shifter kit.
