The welds right behind exhaust muffler on both sides, have hairline cracks (I'm guessing a weak point). OEM costs are $1,850 for left bank and $2,950 for right bank. Is there an alternative that anyone knows about?

As I instruct at HPDE's some of the tracks are very hot on noise levels (92DB being the limit), so a lot of aftermarket units tend to focus on more HP, than DB levels. Thought it worth asking the community.

Cheers,
Nick

Might be worth checking with a local exhaust shop first before replacing both sides. If it’s just hairline cracks at the welds, they may be able to TIG repair and reinforce it while keeping the factory noise level intact.

After seeing the prices of OEM ($3,990/side), I am included to agree with you.

NOTE: The web site I gave those exhaust costs for earlier were from Porsche.OEMonlineparts.com. When I reached out to ask a question about being identical fit and questioning their part numbers, I got a dubious reply and the email address looked bogus (bunch of numbers and hieroglyphics). So then I Googled them and the report was not good. That's why the pricing looked too good to be true. Back to the search ......
