I had a ‘59 Morris Mini - pretty much the same vehicle.

It was my first vehicle - acquired in ‘69 - about as basic as you can get 🤣🤣🤣

Very cool. I think the one "luxury" item on the Mk1's (Austin or Morris) was the optional heater. No radio. No power steering, brakes, windows, or door locks. A much simpler time.

Truly a small world. He might have been crazy but Heimrath really did keep my dream alive. He would throw me keys to a 911 and just look/point and say “don’t start it”
I would go sit in those cars, take in every aspect and go through the gears, clutch depressed of course! And pretend I was driving.
Lucky for us, my dad was super cool and let my brother and I start, move and drive his 69 Beetle up/down our 100 foot driveway!!
It’s where I mastered the clutch until Dad let us drive around the vacant parking lot at Bell Canada at night while he was on call, fixing their massive computer systems.

I learned to drive in a 56 Morris Minor. No radio, poor heater and no power. The only luxury item (if you could call it that) were the red leather seats. Still fun though. Then I bought a used Sunbeam Talbot Mk III for $75., traded it for a Triumph TR3, turned it in for a new TR4A, traded it for a new 67 Mustang Fastback. Then came company cars.
Finally a 2004 911 (996) in 2012 and added a 2012 Audi TTs in 2022.

Checking in from Miami, FL!
Just got my first Porsche: a '22 Macan GTS!
I also drive a '13 E92 M3 Coupe (the last V8, stick shift) and in the near future maybe a 992 GT3!
My favorite will always be the '89 Turbo…

That is awesome and truly a small world for sure, I still remember just like yesterday when I took that 930 Turbo aka (the widow maker) out for a spin, it gave me chills right to the back of my spine, awesome feeling , I was in my early twenties back then and had no financial stability to purchase such a car, 5 years later I was able to purchase my first Porsche 944 🙏

Welcome to Carpokes!

Congrats on your Macan and welcome to the Porsche family - drivers of the world's best cars and SUV's! There's a good crowd here always eager for posts and pics. Also, if you have questions or observations, someone is usually around here who can assist.

Speaking of pics, post some of your Macan. We all like seeing what everyone is driving and pics say it so very well.

I'll shift some of my limited Porsche goodwill your way towards the possible 992 GT3. Might be of little help but moral support can't hurt!
