Probably in the best interests of the company... But now I'm worried about whether they will continue to offer the red Porsche-Smeg refrigerator.

This move of relinquishing one of his two CEO positions was announced a couple of months ago by Blume who said at the time that this had always been part of the long-range plan. The announcement was way overdue imo.

However, I feel it was a bad move in the first place several years ago when Blume was allowed to be a dual CEO, the head of not only the parent company Volkswagen Group (VW AG) and its many brands, but also Porsche AG, one of those brands under VW Group.

Blume has also allegedly been leading the way in the CEO search for his Porsche AG replacement, not ideal in my view. Unfortunately, Blume will still be the top dog by virtue of his role as CEO of VW AG. He will be over the new CEO of Porsche AG - what influence will he exert?

Only the holding company Porsche SE, the majority of which is owned by the Austrian-German Porsche–Piëch family, has any sway in the future of VW Group (VW AG) and the future of Oliver Blume.

And his replacement has been announced .
