Informative video on Bore Scoring

My wife has always wanted a little red convertible.
Now that our son is getting his license soon, I've been researching older Boxters for her to have a fun second car.
I've heard about bore scoring, but never really understood exactly what it is, nor how it occurrs.
I came across this video earlier this evening and found it tremendously informative.
It has someone who's opinion I respect (Lake Speed Jr) and another gentleman who I don't recognize, but he definitely appears to know his stuff.
Many here probably know all this and if so, I apologize; however maybe someone looking into an older used Boxter/Cayman/996 might find this helpful.

Cheers

Fully agree on the Lake Speed Jr assessment. His YouTube channel 'The Motor Oil Geek' is significant - excellent analysis that's probably as good as can be found.

The other guy is Charles Navarro he is the founder of LN Engineering in Illinois . Jake Raby and Charles worked together to come up with Nickie cylinders along with many fixes for the 986/987/996/997 . They collaborated with Lake Speed Jr and Joe Gibbs racing to come up with the Driven brand of engine oil . Smart guys no doubt .

Very helpful video. If you would like to read more about PCA’s evaluation on the M96/M97 motors, the April 2023 edition of Panorama has a great model by model summary. It provides facts versus urban myth on the problems. When was looking for a replacement for my beloved 944 S2 in early 2023, I found it to be a great help.

Back issues of Panorama can be found on the PCA website.
