Starter questions

Hi,
After many years of downtime and forgetting what I've done, I've got 2 starter questions. 1) There are 2 starter heat shields, left and right. The left may attach to a large stud sticking out of the under body, but I can't figure out the mounting for the 2 bolt holes. What do they attach to? 2) Re: wiring to the starter. There's one cable that has 2 wires, small and large; these attach to the solenoid. There is another cable with a single large wire; I've read where there are 2 large wires that attach to the large solenoid stud. Is that correct? If not, where does that other large cable go?
Thanks for your help.

This will help with your starter question

The two fat cables are both positive and they get stacked on top of each other to the same connection. The small wire goes to the solenoid (Figure 4 & 5)

The heat shield connects to the two bolts at the top of the starter as shown in Figure 2 and Figure 9.

Left heat shield attaches to 2 m6 studs protruding from the floor/tunnel.

Thanks whalenig. Hidden in plain sight. FYI - if you plan on installing a larger diameter exhaust system, the middle stud may interfere. It was partially hidden by my new pipes. I had to cut 1/2 of it off to slide the heat shield in place. There was no room or stud length left for a nut, but with the front and rear nuts firmly attached, the heat shield is snug and won't be going anywhere. Thanks again, John
