Insurance

I have Geico insurance for my 2022 Cayman GTS 4.0. They are inexpensive but painfully slow in processing claims. I’ve reached out to several other companies but they either no longer write auto policies or are significantly more costly.
Which insurance company do you use? Are you happy with them?

I have American Family and they are very reasonable with solid discounts if paid in full. Considering that when our house was hit by a Tornado there was an adjuster at our house the next morning at 8:15 I would say their service is beyond exemplary! I have all our vehicles with them, home, trailer, etc., so the rates are further discountedand and they can even write " Agreed Upon " policies for specialty/collector cars. With all my vehicles and home with them my one collector vehicle ended up less than Hagerty. Sure the Porsche is also imminently collectable, but at present it is likely worth more than I paid for it , so I do have a standard policy on it ( for pleasure only ).
I sold many years ago and am a bit biased, I have found my best coverage long term was everything at one quality company. Simple, that means both the company and my family have a vested interest.

I just checked with American Family. They won’t provide a quote for my area — California

Sorry, I failed to mention they were not Nationwide Larry, but with the rates in your State I would definitely shop for a company that can do it all for you. You are not a USAA member or eligible by any chance?

I’m not. I just checked AAA - their rates are double what I’m paying

It always seems the USAA comes out on top on just about every survey. You need some connection to the military to get it though. Several family members recently switched to USAA from State Farm and have nothing but good things to say.

I am fortunate that Georgia has Porsche branded insurance available . I have my Boxster and 996 insured with them . Agreed value on both . They also state all repairs will be done using OEM parts .
Porsche is not the underwriter , just the name of the insurance . Knock on wood have not had to make a claim . If it's available in your state it's worth checking it out .

I've been thinking about inquiring with USAA. Allstate has devolved in so many ways it seems. I've had some bad agency issues as of the last couple of years, the corporate side hides behind voice attendants that you cannot get around, not to mention insurance rates that have grown exponentially the last 5 or 6 years. I expect premium increases, just not double digit percentage increases (some quite high) every year for claim-free customers. I have home/umbrella/auto (for the GMC and the Cayenne) with Allstate
I do like Hagerty a lot - they insure the Porsche sports cars. Great people, great service, good specialty and agreed value insurance.

The big carriers have all seemed to devolve. I've paid homeowners premiums to State Farm for over 25 years, without a single claim, ever. Last year they refused to renew my policy, citing fire risk (with some backstory about California not allowing premiums to be high enough to cover the risk). I ended up with Amica, which seems 'fine' so far.
