Amelia Island is this weekend! I will be at Werks Reunion and in Cars and Caffeine on Saturday. I'm in a Guards Red Boxster GTS 4.0. Stop by and yak.
I'm taking my son, who retired last year from the USCG. He's been talking for years about get some kind of neat car. I figure this weekend will be throwing him into the deep end of this soup.
Woohoo!

Congrats to your son!
Deep end indeed... However, you'll both have fun, I'm sure.

One of my (and my son's) observations wandering around all the car stuff at Amelia Island was that the older cars, pre 1990+ sure were much more elegant and attractive. The older Italian cars were so much more voluptuous than the new ones.
I sat in a Lotus Emira, first one I have seen. What a pretty car, much evolved from previous Lotus'. And the first Lotus that I actually fit in. I would be tempted away from a Cayman, but I'm not sure about the two Lucas LCD screens in the car......

Let your son know that many of the male automotive Designers, over the years, have commented on their preference to curves and rounded edges not unlike the form of a women. Like the Flemish Artist, Rubens, whose paintings of the female form were lush in their depiction , automotive Designers are true Artists in a different medium. Ralph Gilles, arguably the most Respected and Talented Automotive Designer of this era , noted the design of the 2013 Viper GTS resembled a beautiful woman lying on her side on an ocean beach. Like Art over the ages there are almost different schools of thought with the edgy look in automotive some attribute clear back to the Lamborghini Contact.
We obviously all drive a vehicle ( Porsche ) with flowing curves and is it a wonder many of us , when chatting about our automotive mistresses, we refer to her, not unlike the naming of ships.
Style in so many things in our live determines what we ( male or female ) like and it can even project how we see ourselves.
Your son has just used his personal, critical eye, and may have unconsciously determined to a degree the look a car may need for him to pique his interest.
