I posted a while ago about the telescoping copper tubes I used to fix an old speedometer, but thought I'd share a new use. They make great drill bushings! Because the diameters step up by less than a mm per tube, there is a tube that works well for just about any size drill bit. By 3D-printing a holder/jig, and inserting the tubes to ensure the bits can't wander, you can get holes placed with CNC precision on a regular drill press. That's a 5mm aluminum rod with a 3mm hole drilled through the middle, and another 2.5mm hole (tapped to M3 threads) perfectly perpendicular. Try that with a center punch! Anyway, I get weird satisfaction from this sort of thing so thought I'd share. Happy Sunday all....
