I stumbled on an article about intercooler sprayers.

If you make yourself an intercooler sprayer use an expresso machine pump

They can reach 300psi and make microscopic size water droplets which means more efficient latent heat of evaporation to remove heat.

But that says it's 120V, it's not going to perform the same at 12V.

It does when you add an inverter AC/DC

I recall others having success using the windshield washer pump to spray the intercooler. I'd think that pump flows plenty for this purpose, and that getting a good mister/spray pattern at the intercooler is the key?

More of tech details can be found on this link

The best fact about these pumps are how small the droplet of water are.

44.50$ Canadian for the pumps local to me.

These Italian pump are found in tons of appliances according to the read

They have a few fun articles

The pump controls the flow and pressure. Wouldn't the droplet size be a function of the nozzle (at certain pressure)?

Have you considered a water methanol system? Then just add a branch to for IC spray? I would even look at the pump & spray bar used on some WRXs (maybe some BMWs).

Not sure if you read the short article.

I found it to be a light and entertaining read.

Maybe not for everyone.

I have an expresso machine sitting on my work desk with the same type of pump. It just made me laugh at the thought of taking apart my coffee machine to build a sprayer setup.

In addition it also interests me as I am a Power Engineer/Steam Engineer

Far more powerful pump than anything else available.

I'm thinking of copying Daves“s solution, real simple and effective:
