Hello fellow carpokers and greetings from the UK! I am trying to remove the crank pulley. I have a crankshaft locking tool in place and have tried an extension bar on the bolt (21mmm, I can't recall) but I cannot get it to undo! I know the torque is about 200Nm, if memory serves. Can I check that this bolt is NOT reverse/lefthanded thread before I try again with the help of an additional metal tube? With thanks in advance - Mark

Bolt head is 24mm, torqued to 210nm + stiction + corrosion = really tight.
It is conventional thread so counterclockwise to loosen. 1/2" drive breaker bar with a 3 foot extension handle should do it.

If they've been on a long time, they can be crazy tight. I have an 18" breaker bar, which is futile on its own. Get a length of pipe that you can slide over the handle of the wrench and cut it so it's as long as possible while still fitting under the hood. Then pull with all your might. When it finally gives, it will make a horrible cracking sound....

P.S. use at least 1/2" drive socket, or 3/4" if you have it.
