Need instruction on operation/function of hand throttle on ‘71 911T under restoration .Hand brake removed to access tunnel for accel rod bushing replacement. Throttle handle appears to act on barrel type fitting on accel rod. Engine has Weber carbs. Is it just for warm up or is there some other use?

Just cold start and warm up. Some people will use it as a poor man's cruise control, but that's not why it's there.

Only used till mid 1975 run....As stated by Arne2....just a 'choke' for the carb'ed 911's You should find it pulls the throttle linkage. Really 'old school' set up. simple and practical.

Was also used for cold start on MFI 911's.
