I had this custom leather sleeve made, so it can house my Porsche Roadside Assistance and Maintenance booklets in my glovebox. The existing faux leather sleeve I got with the car is designed to hold the Warranty, Roadside, Maintenance, and User manual all together as one. Yet I found it too snug for my liking, so I made this supplemental one, in black leather with white stitching, from a source on Etsy here in Canada.

Very nice. @Crazy Eddie should see that. That's also quite a video -- made me look up 'veg leather' They need to be careful publicly promoting products with the P brand on them though.

Very cool! Are you going to be selling them? I like any leather upgrades for my car.

They (Porsche ) will not take kindly
I have to admit I was truly amazed when I got my second GT4 some bean counter at Porsche thought that it would be a good savings measure to send out a vinyl pouch for your owners manual versus the beautiful leather pouch they sent me on my first GT4 in just a matter of six months they went from beautiful leather pouch to a plastic vinyl case! What the hell were they thinking! When you’re spending $100,000 on a car, the least they could do is just suck it up and give the customer something they’re proud of!!
Very unlike Porsche … now they charge extra for the leather as an option

I mentioned it to them about posting it on Youtube. However, in none of her communications does she promote this. The Youtube is just showcasing "how it's made".
This was a bespoke custom request initiated by me, and no one is actively promoting and selling these--including me.
If anybody want's something custom and bespoke they can source an artisan and have it made for themselves, like I did.
I certainly don't want this small shoppe to get in trouble.

No worries -- lots of leather shops do the same with the Porsche name on bespoke stuff. Even if it's a technical infringement, I highly doubt Porsche would go after a shop for making a custom thing like that. Putting it on YouTube might give the wrong impression though, that's why I mentioned it. And I think/hope Carpokes is becoming a mini-hub for owner-developed niche products, so if you ever did want to sell things like that to other Carpokeans (sans P-logo), that would be great.

This reminds me of my experience with BMW. When I bought my first BMW in 1977 it came with a full tool kit attached to the underside of the trunk lid. BMW continued this tradition for many years. In the early to mid 90’s they started deleting tools from the kit. There were actually open slots where the tools used to be. But even more tacky is that you could buy the missing tools from BMW for a nominal cost - I think I replaced the missing tools for under $20.00. When I purchased my last BMW in 2009, the trunk toolkit was gone.

At least for me, it’s the little things that make me feel ok about paying a lot for a luxury car. IMO, it would be a better move for Porsche to charge $100 more for the car (or whatever their cost is for a leather owner’s manual) then change it to a cheap plastic one.

When I took delivery of my CGTS in November, the sales advisor said that he wanted to give me a key chain. He actually handed me a cheap metal key chain with the dealership’s name and contact information embossed on it. Isn’t that a gift for the dealership? I threw away the keychain into the nearest trash receptacle.

When I bought my second M3 from my dealer, he gave me a 1:18 scale model of it (think Minichamps). I thought that was very nice.
The first gift they gave me was a BMW mug, pens, notepads, air freshener. And BMW head office sent me a SWEET Welcome package with this custom M3 book and paperweight in a very nice presentation format, complete with a letter from BMW M3 head honchos.

From Porsche, considering this is my 3rd Porsche from them....well, I think we got their glossy magazine subscription. That's it I think, oh and two key chains.
