When heel-and-toe downshifting, I've found the accelerator pedal to be too recessed to be easily reached by my right foot while also on the brake. I designed an accelerator pedal cover that aligns the accel pedal close to flush with the brake pedal while the brake pedal is depressed. The cover is also tilted at a slight angle so that my right foot sits squarely on it when on the accel pedal only.
The end result is heel-and-toe that is so easy that I never miss a blip anymore. I can also feather the accel pedal while modulating the brake, which is something I definitely couldn't do before. It made a big improvement.
The pedal cover can be mounted onto the stock pedal using double sided foam tape such as "3M Scotch-Mount Double Sided Extreme Mounting Tape", which means no permanent modifications to the car such as drilling holes. The tape holds extremely well, and after over 2 years in my car it's still holding as well as the first day.
I've attached an STL file of the cover, and if you print it yourself I recommend printing such that the outer surface (the one with the PORSCHE lettering) is facing down on the print bed without a raft or any support material. If you don't have the means to print your own, feel free to PM me and I can help you out.
The surface that your foot contacts is meant to be smooth/not grippy so that your foot doesn't accidentally become wedged stuck between the pedal and the carpet. Don't apply anything grippy such as rubber onto the pedal. Most 3D printed plastics should be good as far as this is concerned.
This cover was designed to fit in a 997.1, but it probably works with most Porsche accel pedals.
I'm sharing my design without any warrantees, guarantees, or responsibility for how it's used or consequences for its use (in other words, use at your own risk). Feel free to use my design to make parts for yourself, but I'm not granting permission to make parts for resale or derivative products for profit.
