Smallest wheel size with big reds

Recently moved to NYC, having two cars no longer makes sense now. Down sizing from 951+DD to just the 951. Trying to find out what's the smallest diameter wheel I can get that will clear big red calipers. Want to buy cheapest wheels possible to put a set of winter tires on so that I can use the car for some ski trip adventures in VT. I'm seeing some say 16" and some 17".

What year offset do you have? @Latitude48 may know either way....

late offset. 17" fikse on it now with ps4s, it looks like a 16" would clear the calipers but would like some verification of that

I'm running 18" with my Big Blacks, but I would think 17" would be the safe choice. I have a set of 17" 996 wheels in 7.0 and 9.0 that I'd like to sell, but shipping may be too expensive.

16" are the minimum Porsche wheel that fits over those brakes on the 928 S4+ cars. The factory spare is 15", and can only be used on the rears. Good News for me is that I've never needed to use that spare.

Look hard at the winter tires you plan to use. I moved to 17" wheels on my car mostly because of the limited number of 16" tire options.

I run a set of 17" BBS E26 wheels that clear the big reds. I'm not sure of the offset as I rebuilt the wheels and never measured them.

Regarding 17" wheels, for a late offset 944 - what porsche OEM wheels fit without needing a spacer to clear the bearing dust cap on a 944? From scattered forum posts it sounds like only the 964 cup 1 and 993 cup 2 wheels? Anybody with experience fitting Boxster and 996 17" wheels?

About 20 years ago (still have them) I ran a set of 996 17" twist wheels, and they fit fine. Boxster wheels should be similar, but I believe the offsets and widths are slightly different. Here's an image on my S2 back in the day; currently running 18" BBS RS-GT.

I run late offset 17” Cup II’s to clear my big reds. I like the Cup II’s because they came from the factory on 968 Club Sports.

I would include a picture but do not know how on this site.
