DIY: Blacked out air vent rings

The paint in the below picture I ended up not using. It was a little too matte for my liking. I ended up used
VHT roll cage & chassis paint (satin finish).
They are super easy to pop off. Use a screw driver or preferably a plastic trim tool, and pry it from the inside of the ring, not the outside.
I used 2000 grit polish sandpaper to rough up the surface of the rings.

Great work! I also like the sanded down look, like more a satin or brushed finish. Would match those brushed nickle exhaust tips from aliexpress

I was seriously considering trying to paint the rings anodized red lol
I am sure typical plastic pry tools will work fine, but I prefer metal pry tools because there is no flex when I am trying to pry. This is the one I got. I sanded the end down even finer when I got it. It's my go-to now.
