Tornado hit so the GTS got a new home!

I haven't been active of late because our family took a 10 day vacation to the Big Island of Hawaii only to come home, relax for a couple of hours, and wham we got hit by one of the tornados on April 26th that ravaged Eastern Nebraska and Western Iowa. My wife and I were okay, and since my son and his family are 25 miles to the South of us they were no where near the devastation. Tornado decided my ATC trailer needed to take flight and after hitting the roof, knocking down a retaining wall and ripping out part of our deck, it landed in a small ravine behind our neighbors yard, just far enough down that getting it out will be a chore. Thanks to the good folks at American Family Insurance I already have a new EZhauler to take it's place and hopefully we can get some work down semi quickly so I can get back to the important things in life for an old Trackrat --- that being ripping around a road course!

For your enjoyment, I have attached a few pics of the dearly departed ATC trailer and the lovely EZHauler replacement -- have to admit I will enjoy that big side door so my arthritic escapes out of the car don't look so tortured , haha!

Sorry about the trailer. Glad no one was hurt, and the car wasn’t in it

Geeeze Bill - glad you, family and, apparently, all structures, etc. are safe.

Happy for the Big Island vacation but sad to hear about the tornado and the ensuing damage. They are nature's psychopaths, of that there is no doubt. We've had some storms and heavy rain in TN with some wind and lesser tornado damage but nothing too close to me.

I'd been concerned the last 10-days or so following your absence on Carpokes - no posts from you since April 16th. I made a reminder a couple of days ago to send you a PM to see if all was ok but, as you know, had not yet gotten around to it. Meanwhile, I was seeing where you were visiting the site with some regularity so that was a comforting indicator.

Beautiful new trailer! Sorry about the way it came to be but glad you have a replacement already. Time for you to get on track! It cures ills. I was back at NCM this past Saturday and had another glorious day - it was a blast. Wonderful pastime!

Glad things are ok with your family. I have been through a few small tornadoes and hurricanes. They can sure mess things up.

I figured you would be doubly upset, JDub, since my prior trailer was a lovely shade of red outside and had some matching interior appointments also. I even spent money for a custom red set of MACs tie down straps. Never even got to use them , but I imagine they will be very happy to sell me another set, ha.

Retirement is good , because getting all the estimates and work started is like building or remodeling the house --- er, I guess the tornado did the remodeling. Have missed two track dates and I am a very motivated old fart to get things repaired and back up to snuff as soon as possible. This is wasting valuable track time and at this rate I may not see asphalt till September or later. Get your spare room ready JDub, I may have to visit you this coming Winter just to get some track time, ha!
