Bummer -- so no luck reattaching the needle? Can you get the needle off the stub that broke off? If so, I might be able to supply the needle section of an old speedometer you can swap into yours...

Hi Tom,
I had just thought of trying to remove the needle earlier this weekend but have not yet tried. Past few weeks have been busy with 2 trips to Florida in the past 3 for work. I will give it a try in the next couple days and post the results. Thanks for reaching out.

I was able to remove the needle from the broken part. Here are a couple pictures.

I have a parts gauge cluster if your unable to fix yours, but it is in pretty rough shape, and I don't know the functionality of its parts.

James,
Is the needle post still attached?
Thanks

If JamesM's doesn't work out, I should be able to extract that section from an old speedometer. I don't know if it matters, but is yours a 160 or 180mph speedometer?

I believe so, I can take some pictures when I get home this evening. If I am understanding correctly, you just need the needle? or the post that is part of the actual gauge, I should have both, or i could probably part with just the gauge as well if you wanted

I think you'll find that the larger knurled section belongs in the pointer, and the thinner pin section is supposed to be attached to the speedo itself. Bottom line is you're going to have to replace the speedometer.
