ECU bracket is complete and ready to mount. A previous owner butchered the wiring from the rear mounted battery to the starter so that has all been replaced with double insulated rubber sheath cable and a terminal bar installed for the connections to central electric, the starter and PDM. This all mounts under the stock DME tray.

Looking good.
When do you expect to start the engine?

Hopefully in the next month or two, I'm finalizing the fiddly bits in the engine bay now (Harness, vacuum/vent/fuel lines) then I should have the S2 motor running again.

The 968 head has just come back from being built, once that's on we can finalize the mods the exhaust manifold/cross over.

Link Razor PDM wired up and now controlling the Fans/Coolant/Pump and the Rad Temp/pressure and EMAP sensors. It also supplies 12v power to the ECU/Injectors, COP Ignition and any other 12V loads, this has allowed me to delete the two most problematic relays, the fan and DME relays. Crusty old fan resistors are gone too and a ECU Master CAN-EGT amplifier installed in their place, EGT wiring will be coming in through the old throttle cable grommet (RHD). The PDM can control the fans to any speed I like with PWM.

Main wiring harness underway after months of planning and accumulating parts. I've run out of digital inputs so I'm looking at options to wire in the cruise control switches which also arrived this week, an AI with a resistor ladder is looking like the best option ATM/

Impressive work, especially the harness.

Are the pistons custom?

Yes, as far as Im aware there is no off the shelf low compression 3L 16V pistons available ATM and I looked pretty hard to find something. Mahle are still making a 3L 8V piston though.

Really interesting new build. I like the drive by wire conversion using the 997 throttle, nice to get rid of the idle control valve system. Cruise control another really neat addition.

Did you order the pistons direct from Mahle?

As with all these 3.0 16v turbo's I am sure it will make some really decent power!

Yeah, I ordered direct, its a slow process but they were good to deal with.

A bit of fab on the weekend to divert the coolant line due to the outlet clashing with the Hayward Manifold. May have to fabricate a new nozzle for the outlet due to the stock 968 being a bit too short for that much weight.
