Anyone switched out the brake air deflectors on their Cayman/Boxster fior the larger GT3 ones?

Including the Spyder, GT4, and GT4RS

I have noticed with many aftermarket companies of Dealers the GT3 brake air deflectors are noted as a cheap improvement to get more air to the rotors/calipers on a Cayman or Boxster. They seem to never note they are a simple clip on like for a 987 , making one wonder if they are as adaptable for the 718s? I know how hard I am on brakes and I have done duct work or found aftermarket brake ducting plates ( for other makes ) to grab more air for the brakes. I would love to find a company making a bigger air scoop for the rotors, yet all I have found is the GT3 units ( slightly bigger ) or the GT2 ones. I won't be out much money to get the GT3 ones, but just wondering what others may have done who are aggressive on the track , doing Time Trials , or even Porsche Club Racing? Please note I do not want to cut anything, so I am not willing to do actual duct work using hoses, etc.

Are you speaking of the deflectors that clip on to the front latteral arm? I have a set of GT3 ducts on my parts bin from another project, I can compare them to what is on my GTS.

Just to be sure, can you post a link to an example of what you are talking about?

One thing the GTS does not have that the GT4 does have is rear brake ducting...

Thanks J-Dub as they likely will fit and yet notes don't show them working on 718s. I know they are only a little bit larger to direct more air to the front rotors , but they are so cheap I figure every little bit helps. Thanks on the rear ducting for a GT4 that does not carry over to the GTS, as I had noticed that and that part may be on my list for the future also.

Bill, don't quote me here but it looks like 99134148402(right) and 99134148302(left) might be what we are looking for on the rear.

Were you able to compare the GT3 ducts with the GTS ducts? I would like to have as much air going to my rotors as possible. Thanks!

Ugg, I totally forgot. I even swapped out my suspension springs for a set from H&R last week. In my defense I have all of my garage stuff packed up and stored away, the contractor is knocking the garage down on Thursday. I will keep this on my to do list, got to swap my wheels to track wheels in a couple weeks.

No worries as it is easy to forget things like this. Also do you know if the GT4 rears will actually fit the GTS? I know these were talked about in a previous post but nothing on fitment.

I ordered the GT3 brake air deflectors but I had the GTS in the air on Wednesday AM and it looks like the new GTS brake ducts are much larger than the older GT3 ones. Next time I have a chance to see a GT4 in the air I will see if the GTS might have the same units. I know I won't be switching them after all and my GT3 pair will be for sale once I get them in from Parts. I special ordered them so I can't expect the Store to eat them, as they are not something they normally carry. I will say I was pleased to see the deflectors are quite large and seem to really be designed to get plenty of air to the rotors/pads/calipers.

If anyone knows about JPs question on the GT4 rear deflectors that would help as I will upgrade to bigger Girodisc two piece rotors this year. They work with the existing calipers but are 350mm in size.

If I am not mistaken, the 718GT4 rear brake ducts consist of four separate parts - an upper and lower half that clamp around the left and right lower control arm. PN's are:

982-505-201-A Brake duct, top half, LH rear
982-505-202-A Brake duct, top half, RH rear
982-505-569-A Brake duct, bottom half, LH rear
982-505-570-A Brake duct, bottom half, RH rear

If these are the parts you are referring to then no, they do not fit the GTS or any other non-GT4/GT4RS 718. The LCA's are different between 718/S/GTS and GT4/GT4RS and will not work. I have these parts and verified myself that they don't fit the stock 718 GTS 4.0 rear LCAs. Not even close.

Thanks so much for going through the trouble to verify these parts will not work on the GTS….bummer!
