So, new member here. Owned a 2013 Panamera GTS for 7 years and loved it. Traded for a'23 Taycan 4S. Now, 14 months into the new car. Love driving the Taycan but also loved driving the Panamera. I miss the Panamera, the visceral V8 growl and the less digital controls. The '24 Panamera hybrid seems to tick all the boxes for me. I drive 75% of my miles within the hybrid range, needing the ICE feature only for longer trips. Given the pathetic US charging infrastructure, I'm thinking I made a mistake, a $40K mistake. Any thoughts on '24 Panamera hybrid vs Taycan 4S and pure EV vs Hybrid? No need to tell me about the steep depreciation curve of a Porsche. Well aware of that!

I have a Panamera ST Turbo which I bought new in 2018- love it!

. I am well aware of depreciation and was when I bought it.

I have driven most models of the Taycan and admire its capability without feeling any connection. There is no right answer here except what is right for you personally. If most of my trips were short distances I would do EV. If very long trips I would opt for the Pana.

Agree that no real right or wrong answer except to go with what you think works best for you and your needs.

For me, I'll always prefer ICE because it's what I like. If I had to choose between hybrid or EV, I'd choose hybrid if for nothing else than the peace of mind knowing I still have an gas engine. I guess the hybrid downside is the increased complexity and reliance on electronics but that's ubiquitous with everything now, right?

I bought a used 2018 Panamera 4 Sports Turismo and haven't driven a Taycan yet but there are a few things I don't like on the Taycan. First the all digital dash/infotainment system. Next is the lack of true worry free driving range especially now that I'm starting to see the new charging stations are being vandalized by copper thieves. This problem is just going to be getting worse. The pana has a little more interior room and the wagon version is even better. Both interiors are extremely well put together but I want more analog controls and switches for the dash especially the center vent. Don't need nor really care about 0-60 mph in3.??? or whatever seconds. It's definitely "ludicrous speed" stuff which does little to improve the things that really count. I lucked out with the car coming with a V6 which provides all the speed I need. Given the heavy traffic on most roads we drive on, Is 800+ h.p. really needed when you're doing bumper to bumper driving a lot? I know the ads on TV and the pamphlets in the dealer showroom make it all look dreamy, but for $230 grand plus. I would buy another used Pana before a Taycan. Escpecially with the new PASM suspension just introduced. Really intriguing.

I have driven most of the Taycan models and they are indeed silly fast, especially the Turbo S.. However they depreciate faster than the Pana and nobody knows how long the batteries will last..a huge buck item to replace if you want to keep the car long term.

When the solid state battery technology starts to emerge there will be a new generation of cars that will obsolete the current ones I suspect.

They are very good cars, but I will stick with my Pana for now.
