Hi All,

Any references? I usually get the dealer, as their system is touchless but very far (burlingame porsche). Looking for someone to mount some nankang ar-1s on some 20/21 BBS FI-Rs.

Expected cost too? What is reasonable?

Honestly, I'd probably suck it up and take them to the dealer. But either way, I'd avoid any/all national tires chains -- American Tire, Wheel Works, etc. -- just no way to know who you'll get that day, etc. My wife recently went to our local Wheel Works (no real choice that day) and I wouldn't recommend them for a wheel barrow tire. I'd go with a performance shop, such as:

If it makes you feel any better, I order a big batch of normal baseball caps with the Carpokes logo, and one flat-billed Canuck hat just for you.

Tom mentioned Custom Alignment - I'd recommend them as well though their prices have risen a lot over the years.

I had a good mounting experience with high end dealer shops where the onsite equipment and required training was suitable for mounting performance tires. I researched possible shops by using Hunter Alignment listings, https://www.hunter.com/find-equipment/. Maserati, Benz, BMW all have enough customers that complain about ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ balance that the equipment and training meet my needs.

Race shops can also be decent - but I found that shops accustomed to 'track day only' balancing is usually wheels weights and duct tape because the life cycle of the tire isn't long enough to require a very through balance. That often isn't accurate enough for daily driven cars where you have lots of time to focus on the slight imbalances.
