Whether Flow Forged or Forged their Hub Centric wheels are becoming a well sought after accessory for those of us who track our Porsches, as they are solid for track use, great looking and well priced with a killer guarantee for damaged wheels. Just passing on the info as I have had 6 sets of their wheels, never had a failure and the fact that they have knurled lips means you will have less tire rotation on said wheels under power.
Looking at getting a set of 9/18 fronts and 10.5/18 rears for my GTS and since this " Sale " means one does not have to wait for their " Group Buys " it makes me a nice person to give my fellow Porsche Asphalt Assault Racers advance notice, ha!
apexwheels.com is their new site, as they have recently changed their logo also.

Great info Bill - thanks for the heads up on all of this!
The new Apex website is fantastic - it's a big improvement, much better organized too - It's easy to find what you're looking for.
I agree with your assessment - impressed with the quality of their wheels, the attention to details, the excellent customer service, the super fine designs (the knurled lips are a good example), and more. Apex wheels are well-made and durable - they're tough little buzzards!

They look great look with your Boxster. To me, they impart a more aggressive stance - good for those long 2-mile AX's !!

Great look and that is the color I want for my Cayman, but at present they are not available at all in the SM-10s. Considering those new Nankang CR-Ss also , along with the the Bridgerock RE71-RSs. Have you had the Nankangs on road course yet?

I've only done autocross with the Boxster. I've had a few spins on track in previous cars, and that sort of put me off the idea of taking a convertible out there without substantially improving the rollover protection.
The rear tires I'm running now are 275/40/18, and it's not a common size. When I was tire shopping early last year, the 200TW choices in that size were basically limited to Nankang and a couple of Yokohama Advan models. Most others only offered a 275/35/18, which is much shorter.

Definitely heard many good things about the RE71, and I think the V2 version of the Nankang is also improved (I have the original version). I haven't decided yet if I want to squeeze a few more AX days out of this set or go for new ones.

Can't you go with 245/35/18s and 285/35/18s next time around? If you are using 9 inch up front and 10.5 inch wheels in the rear you should be able to run 255s and 285s with ease , at least with RE71RSs. I would likely go that route if you are only autocrossing, because the newer Nankangs are better but the trophy positions were dominated with the Bridgestones and hardly a Nankang was in any of the trophies.

@WillyDaP I am running these wheels, which are 1" wider than stock front and rear:
18x9" ET46 APEX SM-10
18x10" ET36 APEX SM-10
I don't believe the 10.5" rear was an option.
I only drive with my local PCA clubs, so I'm not worried about trophy potential! I don't think there are many competitive Porsches at SCCA Nationals. Well, maybe GT3, but that is not in my future.
The 275/35 is about an 1" shorter in total diameter vs the 275/40. I suppose that might be better for autocross as it would improve acceleration and I don't hit the 2nd gear limiter that often. Of course speedo and odo would be off.

Thanks for the tire calc link with the visual representations along with the tire size to speedometer differences. That's handy!

Heh, Vitamin , as quick as you were on those old style CR-S rubber donuts, you will be wickedly fast on the new ones or a set of RE-71RSs. Couple of friends, one who is a National Champ , says the new Nankang CR-Ss are a lot faster, though he says the Bridgerocks are even quicker for him. He says the Nankangs are solid on a road course or if you have two drivers running an autocross on a really hot day.
