Another new racetrack in our part of the South, Flatrock Motorsports Park situated on 773 acres in Tennessee off I-40 between Nashville and Knoxville will soon be a reality. Work has been ongoing all this year with the track set to open sometime next year. Instructors are being interviewed now, and a friend who interviewed last week said that roughly one thousand people had inquired about instructing there. Interest from all levels of motorsport is intense.

It's slated to be one of the top tracks not only in the U.S. but also the world. I've been following its development since August of 2022 and am impressed with the backers and founders, two of whom I met last year. Current budget for this phase is roughly $100m with the overall facility at completion reportedly at $250m. It's the real deal.

From Autoweek:

There are at least five planned configurations with the longest being the Endurance Course at a whopping 5.9 miles in length.

"The proposed grand prix and club track will sit less than a day’s drive from 75% of the U.S. population. The goal is to bring some of the biggest races and racing stars in the world to the Upper Cumberland. Flatrock calls the proposed track Tennessee’s world class motorsports and entertainment destination.”

Thanks for posting blueline, and Flatrock is garnering a ton of interest on so many Forums one has to believe it will become a destination road course like COTA. Not to take away from other really great tracks, but the funds going into this place give one an idea it likely will be pricey to run there with various groups like Chin, or even SCCA or NASA.

Keep us posted and if it opens next Summer like predicted I bet you wrangle a way to get your GT4 out there to test that virgin asphalt!?

Chin has a September TBD event on their schedule for 2024, so people are becoming more optimistic regarding the opening.

And yep, I'm sure it will be expensive to run there. Looking forward to giving it a shot.
