Another new racetrack in our part of the South, Flatrock Motorsports Park situated on 773 acres in Tennessee off I-40 between Nashville and Knoxville will soon be a reality. Work has been ongoing all this year with the track set to open sometime next year. Instructors are being interviewed now, and a friend who interviewed last week said that roughly one thousand people had inquired about instructing there. Interest from all levels of motorsport is intense.
It's slated to be one of the top tracks not only in the U.S. but also the world. I've been following its development since August of 2022 and am impressed with the backers and founders, two of whom I met last year. Current budget for this phase is roughly $100m with the overall facility at completion reportedly at $250m. It's the real deal.

There are at least five planned configurations with the longest being the Endurance Course at a whopping 5.9 miles in length.

"The proposed grand prix and club track will sit less than a day’s drive from 75% of the U.S. population. The goal is to bring some of the biggest races and racing stars in the world to the Upper Cumberland. Flatrock calls the proposed track Tennessee’s world class motorsports and entertainment destination.”
